I've been having trouble sleeping for some time now. I don't seem to have any problems falling asleep. Staying asleep, however, is a different story. On a normal night, I'll go to bed around midnight and wake up four hours later. Sometimes, after an hour or so, I can go back to sleep but those instances are rare.
Needless to say, I am in a continual state of tiredness. I work 60 hours a week, then I come home to engage in normal domestic activities - cooking, doing laundry, washing dishes. I talk to The Boyfriend several nights a week. Sometimes I entertain the idea of making a blog post, but to be honest, there's only such much energy 4 hours of sleep will provide.
My stamina was decreased even more when I developed a sinus infection a few weeks ago. Last Friday, I finally broke down and went to the doctor. After looking at my unusually high white blood cell count, he gave me a shot and a prescription for antibiotics.
I said all of that to say, forgive me if I don't have the necessary brain power and energy to post more frequently. Rest assured, I am still reading and occasionally commenting on your blogs. But anything that requires a great deal of thinking, I am putting on the back burner for awhile.
Not that you guys don't write thought-provoking posts, but you know what I mean.

Oh my gosh...this is exactly how I have been. I go bed arund 9 or 10...only to wake around 12-1. I can't go back to sleep, so I lay there, playing all these scenerios in my head of my next day's activities and how I will solve everything. Next thing that I know, it's 4am, and I need to get up and shower.
I wish I could tell you what worked for me, but I can't. I still can't get a full night's sleep. **sigh**

It's okay Grizzbabe, everyone I know is sick. Must be that season. Get well soon!
We all need blog breaks every once in a while. Feel better!
Thanks for the birthday shout, GrizzBabe .....
and I'm with you on the sleep thing! 3 to 4 hours seems all I can manage - and well, you wrote the rest of my story (except the part where you've been waiting 15 months now for a divorce while the lawyers are hoovering all your liquid income ...) oh, sorry. didn't mean to rant!
hope you feel better soon!
There's nothing worse than a screwed up sleep cycle. I think we've all been there. Hope you're over that nasty infection and resting easy ASAP.
I know what you mean. Not having the energy to write thought provoking post has never stopped me, though. I just babble away.
Hope you get to feeling better soon. I’m sending some TLC thoughts your way (and a few dirty ones, too.)
Did I hear someone say Ambien? Not that I'm advocating you popping pills so you can respond to our blogs more, but hey. Fringe benefits and all that...
(Wow, I'm just the pharm co's best friend these days, huhn?)
I hear ya on the slep thing.....I have chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia and you never feel rested for very long and are never without some part of your body hurting so that it's impossible to settle down at night. I also get up every 2 hours and test my sugar and then do insulin or eat, whichever I need. It's crazy.
And that's not even what menopause does!!
If you have medical insurance, go to a sleep doctor and have a sleep study done. If you have sleep apnea, they can deal with it. It's a test that requires you to be wired, and it runs around six hours one night. It's amazing how well you sleep afterwards if that's the problem!
I get my best sleep during the day. I am so afraid I will miss something if I fall asleep at night. I think that is what happens once we realize that there is so much to do in life.
oh sounds exhausting. i'm currently battling an ongoing bad cold that i can't seem to kick quickly. i hope you feel better soon!
So how's the sleeping situation?
Still bouting with insomnia? Get thee to an acupuncturist, Dear GrizzBabe. They got me sleeping like a baby in no time. The herbs are magic, and no hangover. Seriously.
Thomas Edison, I believe, never slept an hour at a time.
As for the rest of us, sometimes all we can do is take it as it comes.
In any case, I'd suggest keeping a sleep log and don't let the doc off the hook until you find out what's going on.
I'm Stumbling around a bit today and stopped by to give you a big THUMBS UP.
Cheers!
Grizz? Where are you? Still sleeping after days and days of being wide awake?
I miss you....come back Grizz!!
