Thanks to all of you for your encouraging and supportive comments in my last post. Things are slowly getting better. Not long after my near suicidal rant on this site (not really, but after re-reading my last post, it certainly seemed as if I was ready to slit my wrists), I made an appointment with my doctor. He doubled my medication and that has resulted in a slow downward spiral of my blood glucose level. It's still higher than normal, but it's getting better for the most part. I continue to do things that are good for my health, and I hope that, in time, I can see some normal numbers again.
In other developments, I just returned from a visit with The Boyfriend. We've been talking a lot about marriage lately. A lot. We are even going through some premarital questions to make sure we are on the same page. For the most part we are, but this process has unearthed some areas where we are definitely not in complete agreement, like how to discipline children (I'm the strict authoritarian; he is more lenient) and who handles the finances. I think we'll solve the financial questions, but that discipline issue was a real bump in the road. Despite our parenting differences, I think we'll be okay. If we do things right, I think we'll balance each other out. We just have to figure out how to raise our children so that they experience the best of our different discipline styles and not the worst.
The Boyfriend and I also went ring shopping on my recent trip. We didn't purchase anything. We went so that I could get a feel for what sort of ring I might like. That was loads of fun for The Boyfriend. He got to experience the joy of going from store to store and watching me ooh and ahh or turn my nose up at rings that all look the same.
To him.
Key phrase.
Because we women know that no two blue dresses or two pairs of red shoes are ever the same. There are always subtle yet important differences.
At one point, the jewelry store guy leaned over and whispered to The Boyfriend that he had his work cut out for him.
I wonder what he meant by that?

Ring-shopping...now that's some serious talking fo' yo' ASS right there! Hey, if Fringes & Q could do it...!
That's some awesome sauce being spread ALL around! Do your thing, Grizz!
I know exactly what he meant. He knows how hard it can be to satisfy a woman because women are NEVER satisfied. But I hope you make the effort rewarding for The Boyfriend. If he's looking at expensive rocks, then he obviously will do what it takes to satisfy you. Good luck!
Taking the vows!
Babe, thats SWEET!
and what lovely work you must truly be!
Hi Grizzbabe!
Way to go, sweetie. Are you Chicago bound or is he going to relocate to TN?
Good news on your blood sugar, too. Mine is still hight, but that is because I don't watch my diet like I should. I mean I watch it...I watch it go into my mouth. Tons of it.
